I know turbos have been talked about before so I'll bring it up again. I'm looking for some idea's. I have some general idea's but the more the better. So if you were going to install a turbo on your 350 how would you do it? Mounting the turbo looks to be the hardest part. Any info would be great. Thanks, Frank

NO idea but id say fuel would be my biggest concerns. I have no idea how well a carb works with a turbo. A FI car is easier as you can meter fuel on the fly. carbs usually have only "one" settings.

The older "hotair" turbo cars blew through the carb. Probably not the best idea to put the turbo on the 350 unless you think out all of the aspects of the turbo car. If you decide to go with a straight air through carb setup, you could mount the turbo just about anywhere the combined exhaust pipes could be routed to feed into the turbo. This is where the fabrication begins. Modify the exhaust system, build a waste gate setup, and then an air delivery tube from the turbo to the intake. Spend a few hours playing with the carb setup, then presto.

To do it right, buy a used GN setup and drop it in. Instant turbo car. This would probably be the easiest and least expensive way to do it. Good luck.

Cheap and easy...two GN turbos, adapter plate to "flip" the exhaust manifolds...cut about 1/3 off of a fire extinguisher and weld in the 2.5" tubes. Blow through a box stock 600DP, or plug the power vavle and jet up. Expoy a nipple behind the diaphragm on the stock fuel pump for boost reference. Find a mid 70s dual port vacuum canister for the distributor to retard the timing under boost.

Cheaper and easier (if you have the room)...one Holset HX50 mounted on the passenger side where the AC box used to be. Use the stock exhaust crossover to plumb up to the turbo.

500HP with 10# boost, stock cam, dualplane intake...
