I just moved down here in GA. I recently found out about an annual event in Daytona called the Turkey Run. I guess it is a HUGE event over Thanksgiving weekend at Daytona Speedway. Like some 5,000 cars.

The group here in my local town was letting me in on the ordeal and I was wondering if there are many of the board guys that attend. It seems that a group of people here all go together, and have a section that they all park in/at/around together.

I am looking to attend and was wondering who may be there to look for...

We go every year. (The weekend event before is at Moultrie which is on Spence airfieldand some go to both)

Unfortunately the infield at Daytona is being renovated and that is casting a shadow on whether it will be held and/or what space will be available.

Night time cruising at the plaza at Ormond Beach is awesome.

It sounds like an awesome event. I am looking to dolly down and do some cruising. I just can't be sure and trust my car for the drive yet.

    Maybe we can meet up...

After a number of years of great weather the last two years brought monster cold fronts. Last year on Friday night during the cruise it arrived with a driving rain followed by a crash in the temps from warm to the deep freeze. The next morning I could see my breath and my fingers were nearly frost bitten while pre flighting the aircraft in a howling wind. If I was was going to be cold it was going to be at home. I left for NC which had worse weather but not as much as you would think.

Mike, there is usually several guys from the JAX area that travel down for those days. I will be there in the car corral, as usual.. The event is about to be MAJORLY revamped, and I understand that the Daytona Street Rods group, who put it on, will be possibly relenquishing control after this year...last year was a tad over 5,500 cars.
