    Hi everyone,

    What a great site.

I recently acquired a 65 Skylark convertible which has been nicely refreshed, but which has a few small jobs still to be done.

I am currently working on replacing the indicator switch. It wont self cancel. After removing the steering wheel, it appears that the metal stud that the indicator stalk is screwed into - has disintegrated.

I am currently having trouble removing the indicator switch mechanism from the steering column. I have removed the 3 screws - and it looks like it should slide off the column, but it only moves about half an inch. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Neil

Problem solved after disconnecting the wires that run down the outside of the steering column.

Sefl cancelling problem solved by tightening loose screws that hold the indicator switch to the backing plate.

I have the same problem with mine, but I haven't torn into it yet...we will see!
