    Hello all!

My '63 225 has two-speed wipers.... they exhibit strange behaviours, which i think may be the switch....

On the wiper motor is a three-connection plug. The wires are Brown (middle) Black and White.

When the car is on, the Brown always has power, and has a jumper to windshield-washer pump to power that too.

The other two wires are dead no matter what position the switch is in. I would have guess that one is the low speed and the other high speed, but strange GM wiring has often made less sense....

The strange behaviours come about when sometimes the wipers will work (usually at low speed) no matter what is done with the switch. This will go on until i unplug the wiring from the wiper motor. When plugged in again, often they will just return to their park position, and shut off.

    So...

I suspect either the wiper-parking switch (where is it?) or the main wiper switch.

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks!

check that the switch is grounded . i am guessing that the switch would have a ground wire on it that needs to be connected to a ground. the a-body cars do.
