GSJohn BUICK is a beauty too!!

I looked at a 65 Skylark GS this past weekend, and saw this (see photo) below each tail light. Were these marks typical of the workmanship in 65, or is there something fishy about them? Accident? Rust? All the metal seemed to be solid, no rust, my magnet stuck wherever I put it.... :puzzled:
    Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks John

nope!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had three 65s, two were in decent cond. in the area you show! the worst one was a body off resto, that area was pretty rotted. that appears to me to be body work! some guys use metal chippings in bondo and your magnet will stick! but not very strongly recheck it with your magnet ,and see how strong it holds on to the area.

Looks like a common spot for rust and a hard spot to fix.

I've just been having mine fixed. Notorious area for rust.

On my 65 the corners look like the metal is "folded" over. And mines never been touched as well. Its not as sloppy as the second pictures though,It looks more like the left.
