Anyone happen to know what type of clips a 71 GS 455 drive shaft uses to hold the rear u joint in? Internal or external? Thanks,
I think the original u joints used hat wax inserted into an internal ring in the cap to hold the caps onto the u joint. Replacements use a spring steel lock ring. guys, am I right?
Bingo you are correct.. Originals were held in with injected plastic . Replacements will use a internal clip
Internal c-clip there will be a groove machined into the bearing caps that the clips are pushed onto when the caps are in the correct position centered. 1 1/8th cup size Mechanics 3R joint Jim J D
