I remember reading once that there are a few different US money orders that you get from Canada and was wondering what's the difference and where do you get the good ones from that are cashable in the US ?
Go to Canada Post and ask for a money order in U.S funds. Or ask your bank for a money order in U.S funds. Both are as "good as gold" HTH
money order Some banks up here won't cash US potal money orders, I find bank money orders work the best.It might work the same way down there....Chris
RE Money Orders Having done the swap a lot I'll chime in with my experiences. From US to Canada, Best Money order to have the buyer use is a United States Postal Money Order. It's important to have the Pink International one. Which you can Cash in Canada, the green one you can't. Western Union also works fine with US to Canada. Some banks also have a five day-30 day hold they put on Money orders from some US banks. Mainly Royal Bank and Scotia try that "stuff". Sending a money order from Canada to the US, Sending an international postal money order from Canada Post in US funds, or western union. Today US banks are holding Canadian bank money orders the same way Canadian banks do. Dexter
I deal with TD Canada Trust. Buy US money orders frequently. They are partnered with Wells Fargo Bank in Ohio, this is written on the money order. Sent out close to 40 this winter, have had absolutely zero problems, questions or complaints.
Money Orders For all my evilBay transactions I use Royal Bank Money Orders in US$ (from my Royal US $ account) and haven't had any problems. For US buyers I request USPS International Money Orders (the PINK ones!). The GREEN ones are non-negotiable in Canada, and it sez so in Red letters - Negotiable only in the US or it's possesions. The easiest way to fly (imho) is PayPal, but let's not get started on the pros 'n cons of this evilBay feature.
