ive heard people talk about this over the years.is it that big of a difference performance-wise?or is it just less pedal travel?and while were at it,do the aluminum brakes (front)use anything special for the w/c?like wagon w/c?there is no mention of it in the manual(anything about aluminum drums) o No:
Jamie, with larger wheel cylinders it would require MORE pedal travel. Braking pressure is increased on the front shoes. Aluminum drums are a direct swap. Wagon cylinders in the rear will do the same as the front & aluminum drums for the rears also. This is better used with power brakes as there will be more pedal pressure required. Also power has a 1 1/8" bore master cylinder as opposed to 1" manual. Also, a question on alternators. I have been doing a lot of one wire swaps lately, getting rid of the regulators, etc. Can I do something to get the ole gen lights to go on & off properly?? I thought there was a way by crossing a couple wires at the old regulator wiring block. Thanks, Tom T.
