the holes in trailing arms and cross member have been pounded into an oval shape on my 73 century, standard upper arms with poly bushes, now ruined :Dou:. Anyone repaired cross member before? 370 hp & 400+ ft/lb torque. 13.4 et @ 101

I cannot find braces for this year, if I repair it how do I prevent it happening again?

That doesn't sound like that much power to cause that kind of issue. I've put at least that much through mine for 30 years and the bolts are still snug. Where they loose and allowed to hammer on the mounting points?

A picture might help give us a better idea of the problem you're experiencing.

Usually, the actual arms are pretty easy once out of the car. Just weld on some suitable sized washers on the outside, weld up the back side and redrill to a snug fit. I think 4-speed cars came with a reinforced upper arm on the passenger side.

If the rear cross member is wallowed out as well, it is the same fix, just harder to get to.

Great Idea, I will hunt out some washers! it has been suggested that the poly bushes don't have enough give in them and can cause this, I don't want to go back to rubber! anyone heard this before? I am working on the pictures
