I read the Boston Globe newspaper daily..and on Sunday morning, I always scan the Auto section..usually there is a halfway decent article by the local auto writer on a new car or some auto development. I was 'wowed' this morning when the story was about online auto forums and further blown away that the short list of 'best examples' of forums included our own V8BUICK.com! Here's the link for the story.. http://www.boston.com/cars/articles/2004/08/15/online_theres_a_forum_for_every_model/ And here's my 'well done' to the guys who run this forum..and to all the Buick people whose contributions make it all click.. Enjoy the moment of fame! Regards, Stanley
As I always say "Rather be lucky than good". Hats off to JW (who is at Salem) and all the gang that made and continue to make it possible.
I usually shy away from the Globe Nowadays as they are owned by the New York Times and I feel they focus less on Boston than Western Massachusetts these days (It ain't the Western Mass Globe, now is it?) But I'll say that good news is always good news, even if it comes from a rag like the Globe Nice job all! ~edit:laugh: It's a nice little tip of the hat, but it is so very obvious that the writer (I know who it is but no finger pointing, you can see for yourself who it was) took a very cursory look at one question somewhere about a road wheel and it's distinctive traits versus another. With all the very thorough and technical questions answered and discussed here on a regular basis by some very knowledgeable people, you'd think it would have been easier and better to pick a topic that doesn't make us seem like we're into the bling bling of new wheels more than we're into something like Marco's Stage 1 registry or one of the new types of heads available or how to modify your oiling system or even what IS waffle grain vinyl anyway? Instead it's wheels as an example, and a very quick and in my opinion sloppy overview. That little snippet doesn't make me think V8Buick is particularly noteworthy. I know that this isn't the type of article that gets Pulitzer prize winners, but my high school english class was writing more in depth atricles on things than didn't even exist and we had to make up examples. In college, if I had written such a cursory examination of something that was supposed to be an example of the 'best', I'd be writing the whole thing again from a different persepective- and that was at an Engineering school- no English major I. Thumbs up:TU: for V8Buick and a little recognition Thumbs down:moonu: for the atricle's content and writing [disclaimer- for those of you not from Boston: please understand that Bostonians criticise like no other population.]
Yeah Chris, Look how you guys criticize the Ney York Yankees!!!!  I have to agree. What a lame topic to use.Should have been about" Is it a Stage 1 or not" for example. But,for Jim and the gang, any free publicity is good! Pat:laugh: :TU:
I like it! It is always good to have good press and our group is definately one of the premier forums on the web.:TU:
