Vacuum Advance

    How much vacuum should there be going to the vacuum advance with the motor at an idle:Do No: Right now the way mine is hooked up on the 400, there is no vacuum going to the distributor at an idle. I do get full vacuum when I open the throttle some though. Just wondering.

    I prefer full vacuum rather than ported to my vacuum advance. In most cases, the engine will idle better, and cooler this way.

    The '68 was ported vacuum to the advance so you should not have vacuum at idle but off idle it should be close to full manifold vacuum. The '67 was unported. Hope this helps. :grin:
