OK guys I need a little help here. My dad wants to sell his 83 El Camino SS and I have no idea what it is worth.

The car is medium blue with dark blue stripes and has a cap. The upper surfaces were painted to the stripes, and it is original paint from there down. The car has AC, Tilt, cruise (?), and still has the original cloth interior in it that looks really nice. The only thing I saw in the interior is a few cracks in the dash pad, which seems "standard" on those year cars.

The vehicle has 85,000 miles on it and I believe it is a 350 automatic with a posi. I don't believe it has a lick of rust on it, and it has been garage kept since he bought it in 88.

I will be digging it out of the garage within the next few weeks and checking over the brakes etc, before the sale.

Anyone have any idea of value? I know it's hard without pics.

too bad it isn't a Buick engine , Duane is it the 350 diesel engine ? I'm pretty sure even the SS got an upgraded 305. Anyways, I know a Dealer that specializes in 5th gen elkys. Average Retail they have is 5-6k and for a Minty mint one or super low miles low-mid teens. Now this is retail pricing at a dealer so take that into consideration. Like you mentioned condition is everything. Id still like one of these parts haulers. Show us some pic's when you get them.

    DL,
Thanks for the post. I just dug it out of the garage today. Put a new battery and a little gas in it and she fired right up. Found out the car has a 305 rather then a 350. The car needs a bath and a little cleaning but looks pretty good. I will try to get some pics later next week.

I believe `78 was the only year a 350 was offered in that generation of El Camino.
