Ok Guys, as you saw in my previous thread about my stalling issues, and the hesitation. I think I've found the problem, or I should say, the exhaust shop did.

When they finished the exhaust on my car, the mechanic noticed something about the sound. So he investigated the problem, he found a weak exhaust valve spring on the passenger side head. He said the valves not leaking yet, but it could be causing me problems when I rev up from idle.

I was thinking about getting some Sealed Power valve springs, about $50 for a set. And, having my dad's old neighbor, a GM mechanic install them.

Or, should I get some better springs? I'm just running a stock cam.

Factory springs were somewhat of a compromise even when new...not exactly performance oriented. Especially, if you consider a newer grind cam!

I would personally go with the TA 1436 spring. Good pressure for any street cam. Actually, it looks to be about the same as the tried-and-true Z28 spring that works so well for the sbc crowd!

You wouldn't go wrong upgrading to matching retainers and locks(keepers) either! While you're in there, don't forget new seals too!!

I'll be sure to get new seals, and locks.

Hmm, I'll have to think on the retainers.

If I do it now, I'm under a tight budget, since I just spent well over $400 on exhaust work.

I wouldn't worry too much about changing the retainers! Ideally, it would be nice to change the whole set...but, I can certainly appreciate the budget taking another hit!:Dou:
