My 1965 Skylark convertible boot lifts up at highway speeds over 55 mph, making it useless for travel. Is there a way to fix this or a different type of boot that won't come loose at higher speeds?

I thought the 65 top boots had plastic clips with metal brackets that attached to the boot and snapped on to the chrome trim pieces to hold the boot on.

I don’t know of any Velcro.

Sorry Duane, I didn't mention that the velcro is what attaches the boot to the top back of the rear seat. I don't know if this is original or not.....

It’s been a long time but if it’s like the later model cars there is a plastic strip on the top boot that slides into a grooved piece along the rear seat top.

My 64 boot is permanently attached to the top of the back seat

Looks like I might need a different boot.
