Vent only blowing air to drivers feet

    Hi,

The vent is working and also producing a lot of noise but I can only feel some fresh air on the feet of the driver... no air out of the normal vents. I found a big hole in the system ... it is located behind/below the radio where I guess the air gets distributed. I already replaced the hose with plastic one's as the paper was rotten/destroyed.

So question is - should this hole be covered and is this where the air got lost or is there an other reason?

    Thanks!

P.S. it is a 68 Riviera with AC

If you don't have Vacuum to the small vac"motor" located on the black hard plastic plenum it wont blow out the upper vents. You Chassis manual has all the diagrams to show you proper hose routing.

That red wire with the blue crimp connector going into the hole could be holding up the proper operation of the damper inside the plenum. Pull the wire out of the hole and see what happens.

In the very bottom of your picture is the edge of the vac motor I referred to. when in A/C or vent position it needs to have vacuum present there.
