What are your experiences with VHT nu Cast paint for exhaust manifold use?

Does it Last or discolor and burn off?

    Thanks!

i use hirsch cast iron paint on my stock manifolds. it looks & works great and it lasts. also seems to act as an insulator for the manifolds

Did you just spray it on, or did you bake them likethe can directs? I can't bake those things in the house, they will smell so bad, my wife will have my ass. How did you do them.

The house will stink for weeks. Ask me how I know!!!! After you have soaked the manifolds in muriatic acid or had them sand blasted heat them up with a torch to make sure they are completely dry. You can use a propane torch for this. After painting let them dry some & use the torch again to bake them while they are hanging. Run the flame up through the outlet for awhile & into each port. This will cure the paint as if installed on the engine. Don't get the flame too close as it will burn the paint. Get the manifolds nice & hot. If nec. you can put a second coat on & "Bake" the same way.

    I like the VHT brand.

Ive used their high heat regualr header paint (comes in a black can). I had it last pretty good on some shorty headers for about 2 years. Didnt really see any rust come through.

To bake, i went over it with a propane torch for about 15 minutes.

I kept my old gas grill to use for parts baking!
