Does anyone have or could someone post a video of a 350 with t/a roller rockers running with hood up then hood down. Just would like to hear if they are as loud as mine are for comparison sakes.
    Much appreciated, James

I have the TA rollers, I've had 'em for years.
Mine are quiet, as they should be.
That crap about rollers being noisier is nonsense.
Whats there to be noisier? There is no clearance in the roller bearings, and no clearance in the roller tip.
If your getting noise, its from the lifters, lifters will tick from not enough preload.
A crappy valve job can cause clacking.
The roller rockers themselves will not cause any noise, any noise is caused from another issue.

Thanks Mark. I check into it. Set them at zero lash then 2/3 a turn. Maybe I need more of a preload. Do I need to start over fresh again or can I just add to the preload now in the proper sequence? First time with roller rockers, just looking for some guidance in the right direction.

If it was me i would go through and reset them all. Last time I went through mine it said 1/2 to 1 turn preload. I went with 3/4 turn on all with no issues.

Two vids in my signature are hood off and hood on. Both with T/A 1.6 roller rockers with roller cam /lifters.

I remember setting rocker arms on my old '69 Chevy once...every time I backed it off till it was noisy, and then snugged up until it quit clacking...then 3/4 turn tighter....
Well, one rocker kept clacking after I gave it the 3/4 turn, so I did it again....and again.....and again.
Once it was quiet, I went for a drive.
Everything seemed ok until I matted the go-pedal, and it floated the valve at about 3000 rpm.

Long story short...it wiped out the cam lobe, and I had to rebuild the engine.

Exactly what kind of noise are you hearing?
    Ticking?
    Clacking?
Details about your build would help immensely.
In theory, if all is right with your oiling system, bearings, valve train, everything should be dead quiet with only a 1/4 turn preload.
In other words, as long as the lifter plunger is kept off the snap ring (by preload) all should be quiet:D

    Build is a stroked 350 to 370.
    NASCAR take out rods.
    Scott Brown forged pistons.
    Compression 8.7-1.
    T/A 1.65 roller rockers.
    Poston 114 cam.
Running one of the 1st Mark Burton twin turbo kits.
Sounds like a tick from drivers side. Video won't load here..... if anyone wants to hear video, send me your cell # & I'll forward it to ya.

Being you have twin turbo's, you have a few extra places for an exhaust leak, are you sure it isn't an exhaust tick?

So I managed to get rid of the tick sound at idle, but rev to 2200 rpm very distinct tick. I looked at roller rockers, the # 1 & 8 exhaust can be moved laterally... is this normal... this new engine is kicking my Ass!
Any thoughts? I'm done with it
