vinyl roof - keep it or not?

    I also prefer vinyl especially on 68-69 model

    my 70 was a vinyl car but it was removed, I always thought the trim looked wrong after the top was removed.

    Not sure on other years but in 1971 77% of the GS coupes had vinyl roofs. I had a fire red 71 GS 455 and when we painted it looked good until the vinyl roof (white) went on, then it looked awesome!! Somehow it just set the car off.

    Revisiting these old threads and thought I'd throw out some feedback.
    As we were taking the body down to bare metal, we agreed that the car would look better without the vinyl top. Everything about the car is custom, and with the chrome/steel trim pieces all gone, it looked odd with that stuff on the car. So we filled all those holes and with the final paint (hotrod semigloss black) it looks just perfect.

    my 72 gs came from the factory with a vinyl roof that is why i decided to a new one.

    Aww man I really think you shoulda kept the top I'm doing my century custom with out most of the (extra) trim and I redid the landau and I'm glad I did!
