Hi, what OE manufacturer makes the best quality vinyl tops for a 70-72 A body? I saw some posts on the forum here on Legendary but seems they may get them from another company. Thanks!
Legendary has had months long back order. Not sure on tops? Friends interior was ordered before Christmas. He still has nothing!
Years ago, my convertible top installer was disappointed with Kee top's convertible top. Can't say anything with regards to the their Vinyl top...
Also, I got a quote from SMS fabrics for a Landau top for my 87 Turbo Limited. Might try them if interested in most correct ... Especially if looking for colors other than black or white... https://smsautofabrics.com/
SMS seems to have EVERYTHING. They claim to be able too make an interior for my 1968 GS california car (Special Deluxe interior) including correct fabrics and heat pressed inserts. I was kind of shocked. Still haven't told me the price though, I guess I will be shocked again...
Prepare for the CHAIR. ( like "The Green Mile " chair...) Don't say you weren't warned! And you won't be put in the dark.
I put a Kee top on a ‘68 coupe-it looked great but faded very fast from buckskin to something akin to parchment. Patrick
I spoke to Kee. I don’t think they are making the Legendary top based on my conversations with them both. I could be wrong but the legendary top seems to have the factory “correct backing” where the two options from Kee have either a non-padded version or a padded version that is thicker than the originals. So I went with legendary. It shipped yesterday. I’ve used them a few times and have always provide great stuff. Haven’t tried SMS before but will keep them in mind. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to reply!!
