The passenger side sunvisor (brand new) seems to stay put at whatever angle you adjust it at until you go over a bump in the road, then it falls down under its own weight. I vaguely recall reading somewhere something that you can do/replace with the bushing that holds it up to make it less loose but I can't find that anymore...anybody know what to do? :Do No:

    Good Luck

Welcome to the land of GM 70's sunvisors! This was a common problem and frankly one I haven't solved yet. I did buy a sunvisor bushing kit from http://stores.ebay.com/vinyl-specialties , and their new tips plus bushings to insert where the tips are inserted did help, but maybe 50%. I also tried tightening up the screw at the base of the visor but it's as tight as it'll go. So my next avenue is to see if I can find something that will increase the size of the bushing just a bit. Or maybe wrap a bit of tape around the rubber visor tip to create more resistance. But for now, I still have the same problem. :Dou:

See I didn't even know those visor bushing kits existed until after I posted this...probably gonna try one of those then see where I'm at

So I put in a new nylon support sleeve and tightened the screw...then I notice the aluminum bracket the visor pivots in had a nice chunk of it above the nylon sleeve cracked off...yay! one more thing to replace

    Got mine fixed!

OK, the purists out there may have conniptions, but I tried something wild and crazy. I went through my supply of screws and bolts, and found a screw just a litttttle bit bigger than the original one that tightens up the visor. I am hugely happy to report that my sunvisors are now fully and properly working!!!   They stay put when needed, and they come down only when "I" make them do so! (The screw had a Robertson head, and I also found out that the hole it goes into actually goes right through the fitting, ie it's not a "dead end". The new screws stick through the hole about 1/2 a thread, but to me the end result makes that totally acceptable!!!!!
