wait til about the 1:12 point in the video where Dan "The Body" Jensen and Tiemann get interviewed. This is a classic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4408oyrkpFA&feature=related Oh yeah, take note that these cars were running these numbers on "sticky" tires,LOL! Boy, how things have progressed, they just keep getting stocker and stocker.
What is that thing growing above Tiemann's lip? Looked like Dan was oiled up for an on-stage competition!!!ou:
I expect you've already mailed my royalty cheque for use of my moniker? Thanks for posting the videos -- that was fun viewing; kind of like watching the old Car & Driver shows.
Dan actually has a pole installed at his house for competition(s) ....... uzzled: Anyhoo - I have converted all of those early Supercar Showdowns and Musclecar Nationals from VHS to DVD, if anyone is so-inclined. We started going in 1986 (when I didn't have a gut) :eek2:
Casey, I'd love to have a DVD of that. I have lots of VHS from my previous life with Rob Thomas and the Oldsmobile group at NMCA, Mondello, etc. Mostly in the mid to late 90's. How did you convert? Dave
Hey it's my favorite Canadian. It's spelled Check, not cheque, and it's in the mail. And.....You paint your car a color, not colour:Smarty:
Dave: just drop by Wal-Mart and for like $100 you can get a VHS & DVD-R combo unit and simply dub from one to the other...it'll do the tracks, titles, etc.
That works, thanks. Most of my old car stuff from the 60's and 70's was on 8MM, then I upgraded to VHS with some dubbed in era correct good time rock and roll. Will love to pull individual frames off that on a DVD. Also a lot of my daughter growing up...It happened so fast......
To this date we still use Jims line "She,s a stocker, she,s legal"Casey do you have all the tapes from Supercar Showdown? I had them all,but i lent them out to god knows who,and they never came back. How much for the dvd?
He might have a catapillar on his lip like this one at the link below. http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/1401017178049889138IePjae Dan, do you still compete? Were you using conventional or synthetic?
Sorry guys, I'm a noob to these classic events, and the speakers aren't working on my computer. My question: Is that Quaker City? o No:
Yep,quaker City at one of the first Supercar Showdowns,I believe this was from 1988,we were there with Thumper and the 69 4speed.Still have the licence plates on the wall gary
