Thanks Jason, you could have easily “smoothed “ me on these parts as a noobie more than once. I appreciate your devotion to these cars.
Thanks Fred. Took me a long time to locate that distributor. But the car deserved it. The thought of taking that distributor out before selling it never even crossed my mind. Wasn't about the money, it was more important that it went to a good home. To someone thst will care for it the same way I did. Im glad you have them both and im happy I brought you into the family so to speak. You were the perfect owner for the beater too and you understood it. Both of those cars mean alot to me. I poured my heart and soul into them.
I am currently trying to purchase the Kleiner one. If I get that one I have another one I'll be posting for sale. 0F23 date..........
by "new" I wonder if it is NOS or one of the new reman distributors that were being restamped a few years ago?
Yes, I'm dealing with him now on it. They're saying it's an NOS unit. Not sure but . . . . the pictures look good so I'm going to take a chance on it. My OF23 will be up for sale if this deal goes through as planned.
I would compare the letter and # s to an original to see if the font is the same. Also does the area where the stamp is , does it look like original casting or smoothed out ? There was a guy on Ebay restamping carbs , any carb you could ever want. Looked like he did a pretty good job. There were also some replacement NOS distributors that had no stamps. I knew a guy that had them. Maybe post pics on here for the guys to look at to form a consensus.
