Hello Everybody, I am looking for a correct 1971 W-30 Aluminum Intake, any help would be appreciated. John
Just my opinion, and that's not worth much,but...... John, if you can come up with an oem intake, I think you will be much happier than you will with the repro, even if it means spending a few more dollar's. The repro I bought was made oversea's, and the quality of the aluminum was very POOR :ball: Lot's of contaminent's were in the casting, and lot's of porosity. The port's were very rough and crude/improperly shaped, port's didn't line up the best, had to helicoil two of the carb bolt hole's after trying to tighten down the carb the first time. Like I said, you may have to spend a few more buck's for an original, but I think it will be money well spent :3gears:
An original 1971 W30 intake? Goy any idea how rare that is? If you do come across one, take out a mortgage. They are VERY expensive. Is your car a real 1971 W30 with H heads? If so, you do know how rare that is.
I can get you a repro, but like Tom said .... a year ago I had a guy trying to sell me a real 71 W-30 intake. he wanted $700. I didn't buy it and no, I don't have his contact info
