We are looking to possibly buy a 67 GS or Skylark. Would consider post or hardtop. Looking for complete car, but might be interested in your incomplete or stopped project. What is very IMPORTANT is the amount of RUST in the car. I don't need another rust project, mechanical stuff fine and possible paint, but don't contact if rusted. Will travel eastern half of country and Texas for right car. No surprises, will drive off and leave one if you lie.

    Hi,

Saw your post on V8Buick. What's your price range? I have a #'s matching hardtop that was beautifully restored over the last couple years. Zero rust, near perfect paint, not a show car but a top notch driver.

    Thanks,

    Jon

The price would be determined by the car. I'm not looking to get stupid buying one but would pay a fail price. Send me some details if you don't mind.
    Thanks for relying.

Thanks, for the link to the thread. I may have looked at it before. That is interesting. Seems ever good car I find is in the northwest. We will give it thought.

Actually, I'm in the Northeast....New England. Not as far as you might think.

Let me know if you have any questions or need any additional info.

    Thanks,

    Jon

Sorry, somehow I got it that the car was in the northwest. No, Dover wouldn't be near as far. One question, I noticed in the picture of the right side that you had covered the whole side with "mud", I no most would be ground off but what was the rreason for that, was there damage or what. There was 5 times as much on there as in my whole 67 race car.

Both lower quarters were replaced with original rust Texas sheet metal. The wheel well lips had to be fabricated. Then it was all skim coated with filler and sanded, primed and sanded again until most of that was actually gone. It's the only way to get it perfectly flat and smooth when replacing sheet metal which trust me, it is...Sean's a wizard with the body work...I just did the grunt work, hours and hours and hours of blocking off that mud and primer. In the end there's really not much mud in it, only in the low wavy spots that couldn't be hammered out smooth.

Sean painted George's "Black Widow" the thing looks like a mirror! He's done a lot of Buick's and a lot of guys on this board can attest to his work.

I can paste or send pix of the whole process if you'd like. The Fenders were replaced, the lower quarter and wheel lips and the trunk mount area. Engine compartment and suspension/steering was restored and detailed. 3.55 posi but I have the original open rear end. The interior isn't perfect but I left it original.

Starchboy, I have no doubt of the quality of work that went into the car. I'm really wanting a car that didn't have to have that kind of work. I guess I was spoiled by my 67. I bought it running and drivning with buckets and factory air and power steering and brakes and it required VERY little work body wise and has 100% of the orginial panels except the fiberglass I put on it but I have kept all the orginial parts and they are good.
Just like I found it I will just have to stumble on what I want. It's for the wife and she is really wanting a 4 speed anyway.

I have a 67 GS Convertible with a fresh 455+.030, switch pitch, and 2.96 posi. The paint and body are very nice, but not perfect. There is a bubble in the bottom corner of one door, and someone had too long a stud in the carb, so there is a small bump in the hood. The interior was stripped and repainted, then refurbished. It looks very nice, but the seats are not the 67 skylark pattern. I believe they are 67 cutlas covers. Car has new tires and brakes were done when restored about 7500-10,000 miles ago. The car is very clean very nice and runs strong. Car is kind of candy red wine color with black top and interior, with sport wheels. The car rides very smoothly, yet has grreat power, especially considering the 2.96 gear. It has been completely dependable to boot. The frame is in great shape, and as a later Monte steering box, and new body bushings. Email me at landshark454@yahoo.com. Rich
