Duane, I'm sure you have a thing or 2 that I would trade it for, but I doubt they are things you'd let loose of.  Jeff
Thanks Jeff. I'll let you know after I hear back from BrunoD. I also got a call yesterday from another board member that we all know who has a few of the long ones he may sell, but no short ones. Sorry Duane.
Jeff, I knew your response would be something like that.:spank: I figured if I really wanted it I would buy your GSX and have you throw it in with the deal. Ya never know, I may just do that someday, I have a soft spot for your car. Duane
Question on the bracket . Do the inner fender bracket and the intake bracket both get used on the 69 cars?
Ok for the uninformed and those of us that have never had a non a/c car how about some diamentions to see if I have a short one or a long one Duane ? Mike? ANyone. I know I have one in a box but not sure what year it is. I did geta 71 convert non a/c pile-o-parts and boxes of 70 stuff from many yewars of collecting Buick jun.... er Buick jewels
John, Here is a pic of each. The top is the 69-70, and is about 4" long. The bottom is a 71-72, and is almost 8" long.
Todd asks, "Question on the bracket . Do the inner fender bracket and the intake bracket both get used on the 69 cars?" Well I checked my 69 assembly manual and for the V-8 cars it shows only the engine mounted bracket being used (page 1-10.4) For the L-6 cars it shows only the inner fender bracket being used (page 1-10.3) So I guess the type bracket used depends on the engine type. Hope this helps. Duane
Thanks Duane. I saw that in my manual as well but as far as I can tell the v8 cars used the fenderwell clamp as well. I just couldn't find it in the manual. Just going by what I've seen over the years.o No:
Todd, Hey, I believe ya, it wouldn't be the first time the books deviated from what was installed on the cars, especially with routing issues. The other thing to question is when your car was built, and when the page of the manual was printed. Many times during the production year things were changed, and if you have an earlier version of that page you will never know it. I have an original 69 assembly manual and it is an early book. It is also identical to the copies that are available for sale, so you may have found a change the books do not show. Now if someone has a later copy it may list it. Duane
I don't have any idea about the manual date because I'm using one of those CD roms that covers every Buick part and illustration from 65-72. It takes a while to surf through 1700 pages of Buick parts #'s and pictures. :eek2: My car was a 3rd week of October 68 build.
