I need a donor for my trumpet horn, since the one I've got doesn't seem to want to fire. All I need is the back guts...but I'll take any horn you're willing to give me.

In case you're wondering what a trumpet horn is, it's the 4th horn in the sequence with the 4-note horn option. It looks like a little trumpet and the other 3 look the same as a normal horn.

Here are some pictures of the horn disassembled. This is after I cleaned the contacts and made sure I have power to it. It gets power and magnetizes, but for some reason, it won't fire. Maybe the madnet is too weak? That's all I can think of.

I also dipped it into some Evapo-rust to get rid of any crap buildup that might have interfered,,,still didn;t work.

So now I ask, who has a horn I can cannibalize?

I suppose any Buick from that era...

If you've got any Big Buicks sitting around, I'm sure any of those would work!

If you are still looking for the horns, I *might* have what you are looking for. I had a 71 Riv that I parted out. My brother is supposed to look for them tonight, I'll send pics tomorrow if we find them.

I have several '71 Riv parts on ebay if you are interested.

    Riv horn

    Adam,

Here they are... Pic attached. All four work. The long trumpet horn sounds kinda weenie but I don't know what it is supposed to sound like. I would like to get rid of them as a set. Looks like in a previous post they were worth 35 plus shipping if that sounds good you can send payment via paypal. Let me have your zip and I will figure shipping....

Phil, I'll take everything there for the $35 plus shipping. ZIP 63304 I'll send you a PM with more info.

Pat, I know you're cringing, but I have a plan. If I can get my other one to work, I'll send you the horn for shipping costs only. Fair? I know you're out to get one of these as well. I hate to take something away from ya, but I do need one that works. I'm currently getting parts from Yardley so I can try to get the other one working again. I'll let ya know!:TU:

    Fair is fair

Entirely fair, Adam. Your thread and you were first in line. Did you get my email??

Let me know if you have a castoff, and don't forget - I have a bunch of trading horns (but I think now, so do you! :) )

and I would've bought them too....probably.. Unless Pat and I were to get into a bidding war:laugh:

I'm curious what they would bring in the market. I don't see them on ebay...

I saw a couple sets for Caddies when I was looking, but forgot to note their ending bid prices.
