I've been searching for a BOP 350ci engine to no avail.. I've spoken with 3-4 members of the forum who all have engines but aren't local and those that are haven't kept in contact.. I'll be buying a '76 Olds Cutlass with a Chevy 350 within the next 2 weeks..I plan on using this engine if I can't locate a decent BOP 350 by Jan 1st..If you have a running 350 that you're about to remove or have 1 just laying around, please contact me at memph760@yahoo.com..I'm in CA and willing to drive to 1 of the surrounding states if a deal is struck..
ANY 'BOP' 350? you know that they're all completely different engines, right? i applaud your desire to get rid of the chevy but wouldn't you want an olds 350 for your, you know, oldsmobile?
I have a real clean 350 Olds short block. Spun a bearing, needs rebuild. Your welcome to it if you arrange pickup. Dan oops, just noticed your in CA sorry. I'll leave this up for anyone else...
I'm not looking to restore/keep the Oldsmobile..I plan on taking the Chevy 350 from the Cutlass and putting it in my Regal if I can't find a BOP 350..The Cutlass used to be a keeper but the man who's selling it wife decided to ram it (more than a few times) with her car.. ou: All exterior panels are bent except the trunk..Interior is torn but can be easily reupholstered..Frame might be bent/twisted from their foolishness..I know at 1st it originally just needed a control arm replacing but now it's a part car..
I have a 1969 olds 350...only 60-some thousand miles original...came out of a station wagon.... but its in far away chicago... o No:
okay, so you really want a Buick 350. you do know that if you swap in the chevy 350 you'll almost certainly need to swap the trans as well, right? the term 'BOP' normally refers to the TH-350/400 or stick shift bell housing pattern used in Buick, Olds, Pontiac and Caddy cars. very few transmissions had dual pattern housings. BOP is also often used in reference to the rear axle assemblies as the 'BOP' rear ends tend to used bolt in half shafts while chevy uses C-clips in the pumpkin for half shaft retention.
I'd really like to keep my Regal a Buick from front bumper to exhaust tip..I knew that dropping in a Chevy into another GM car required changing mounts at least and often the whole drivetrain depending on what you planned on doing..I'd prefer getting a Buick 350 and prepping it for install while searching for a suitable tranny..I get paid every 2 weeks and Uncle Sam isn't as generous as I'd like for him to be so I'd like to get as much of the "real work" out of the way with the engine/tranny out of the car..
350 buick try ebay! theres 2 or 3 of the on there and 1 is in california! just type thes words in the search menu on ebay * buick 350* and look through the list. theres a few for $50-250 on ebay and shipping really wouldnt be more than $300 if its to far for you to pick up. thats cheaper than driving with today gas prices.
