    Rebuilding a 1965 401 engine need flexplate and appears 64,65 or 66 from a 401 or 425 will work. Al T.

'64-'66 will all work with a 13" converter. Depending on the torque converter you will be using you may need the "Dual" bolt pattern converter. I have measured carefully & re-drilled holes when nec. New flex plates are available, but I'm not sure about the off balance condition. Our 401/425's have an imbalance of approx. 4 1/2 ozs.

I found it, but I don't really know what they are worth. Is 40 shipped to much? Last thing I want to do is gouge someone.

That's a "Dual" bolt pattern flexplate. Depending on the "Teeth" all around the flexplate will to some extent dictate value. A V-8 engine will have a wear pattern in 4 areas. 6 cyl. 3 & 4 cyl. usually 2. So look at the wear pattern on the teeth in those 4 areas, plus the rest. $40.00 is a VERY reasonable price. I've seen them go for as much as $150.00 on e-bay & other suppliers.

Thanks Tom. I'll take a look at the teeth tomorrow. I know it came off of the 65 401 that we are going to use in place of the frozen 401 in my moms 66 gs project. I don't think I will have any use for it but I also don't have the old motor out to see what that flex plate looks like. Know you have me wondering if I should part with it if there that hard to find. Are they prown to cracking?

Dan, let me know what you decide & find. The $40.00 tag is very reasonable and let me know what you decide on the price. If you want to call number is 314-956-9958. Thanks Al T.

Tom, Dual bolt pattern refers to more than one torque converter I am assuming. If it means something else please let me know. Thanks Al T.

Al ill stick with the price I just want to make sure this isn't a normal problem area. I need to get to where the car is and try and take a look at the flex plate that's in there. Just give me a couple days please. If you get another offer I understand. Dan
