Hello all! I was hoping for some input on a couple of questions i had. 1) im replacing a bad heater core for my 70 Skylark w/ac. Can i go aluminum? Copper/brass is rather difficult to find. 2) Any tips/tricks on re-upholstering my front bench seat? I have a replacement cover, but cant find anyone good or convenient to do it. I would tackle it myself if i knew it wasnt a daunting task... 3) I currently have a driver side only tri-shield side mirror and would LOVE a passenger one as well. Did Buick ever make these for passenger side? Cant find em anywhere! OR any recommendations on sport mirrors (part # etc) that would look nice? Thats all for now, thanks for any input! All hail the 455 sport wagon!
The passenger side A body Buick 70 mirror was sold as an accessory. They are not reproduced and NOS ones are now hard to find as are good used units.
u can use aluminum heater core. replacing the the seat cover is not difficult. I replaced the rear seat base & back covers and the bucket seat covers on my 72 GS. u will need hog rings, hog ring pliers, and nipper pliers to cut the old hog rings. Once the cover is off, check foam & also the seat spring stiffness & breaks. heat up the replacement cover in the sun or place in a pillow case and toss in the dryer for a couple minutes. helps remove any wrinkles and eases installation.
