Need an original, unpainted 70 dipstick and tube.

    Thanks!

Was there a tube in ‘70? I have a 71 BBB that came with the direct, into-the-block oil dipstick.

Both this car and my aquamist car have dipstick tubes. Earlier cars did not although I don't know offhand when they switched over

I thought big cars didn't get tubes until 73ish and A-bodies got them in 68? Mostly due to space issues.. I'm no authority on it though

I guess I wasn't sure either, when I bought my 70 Riv in December the 455 dipstick was into the block. I assumed it should have the tube so I put one in it.

I think manual brake cars are devoid of the tube.

I guess I didn’t realize the the dipstick/tube configuration was dependent on which body it was going into too. The 71 BBB that I’ve had in my convertible for 35 years came w/o a tube and came from a 71 Centurion. I have since added a tube for oil leak and header considerations.

Where they installed during assembly, ie: after it left the engine plant?

The oil gage rods and / or adaptors were installed at final assembly.
