    Fred,
Thanks for the reply. I am not sure of the length of the tube nor the dipstick. I have one, but I suspect it is for a Chevy Bell Housing based on where the mounting tab is located.

    Brian,
Please let me know if you come up with one for my combo (1972 GS Stage 1 Car. 455 motor, TH400 (BB code) Transmission)

I have some but there are 2 different versions. The difference is the bolt mounting point at the bell housing.

    Brian G,

Do you know the application of the 2 different versions that you have? As stated above, I am not sure what length I need, nor the placement of the mounting tab on the tube. I have searched for a P/N for both the tube and/or the dipstick, to try to identify the overall length, but came up empty.

No I don't but I had a pile of cores here. All the ones I have here appear to be the same length. I know one came off a 1972 Vista Cruiser but they all look the same except for the bolt bracket. I can take pictures tomorrow.

    Scott,

Thanks for the info. So, do all B.O.P. cars with a TH400 (same Bell housing), use the same tube and dipstick? Do you know the length of the tube, the dipstick and the point at which the tab is mounted?

Was the TH400 with the "BB" code any different relative to the dipstick or tube (mounting, length, o-ring vs rubber sleeve, etc.)?

To the best of my knowledge, full size cars used a straighter dipstick tube because the engine sat more forward relative to the firewall, and didn't need the bends for clearance. As to the "o" ring vs rubber sleeve, I'm quite certain that all of the earlier tubes used an "o" ring and the later trans had the sleeve.

    Rocket Racer,

Thanks for the knowledge. Makes sense. If I remember half of the information that I glean from this site, I will be pretty smart some day.

So he has what he was looking for.In all those pictured,I don't think any will fit the Buick, unless the flap that gets bolted into the trains is highly modified .Bruno.
