hi guys Ive had my buick for about 8 months now and have did a total restoration of the car.:) The only thing that hasnt been touched is the engine and drivetrain. It has 31000 original miles on it and before i painted it it was the original paint on it. its a 1974 buick apollo with the 350-2 engine in it. I bought it a a rad shop in upstate ny I was looking for a Nova and this guy knew that. He found it for me and i got the call. "I have a 74 nova here for ya. it is nice shape he said" well i went and seen it negotiated the price, even though it wasnt a nova i was planning on putting a nova clip on it. When i got it homee started stripping the body and didnt even find a hole anywhere in te body or floors. I couldnt help but let the buick flags fly high!!! Over the rest of the winter months I would like to put a 4 barrel intake on it, and possibly a cam and was also pondering the tohught of a 455. heres some pics

Welcome to V8Buick Jay. The car looks sweet. Its getting hard to find real clean cars these days. There's a lot of NorthEast boys around, so you'll have good company. So what's the story on the 2nd pic? A wedding? Buicks look great at weddings!!!!!

Have fun on this site. Many stories about building a very fast 455 here, there is even a twin turbo set-up for that 350.....

Nice car, and welcome to the board. :TU: I also have an Apollo, but mine is a 73. I've always liked the BOP X bodies, my first car was a 74 Olds Omega. I am getting ready to put a 455 in my Apollo. :3gears:

Here are some links to threads that I have read up on to get info on the swap. Hopefully this will help give an idea of what is involved. I havn't started to do the swap yet, but I should be picking up a 455 that I had built within the next month or so.

Another Apollo owner! Welcome! I bought my 74 about 1 1/2 years ago. It too was a low mileage (12000) original. Had plans to modify it, but the car was too nice and too original. So, I've been enjoying it as is. If you can smole the tires like that with the 350, why change? DooH!!Just remmebered I too have a 455 Buick engine for 'future plans"'!! Enjoy! Ben.
