I have discovert that there are 4 water hole in the block where the heads com. The are in the botum on the driver and passiger side. One at the front one at the back. The are a bit bigger then oval. The holes ar also on the heads. But not in the head gasket.
I have lookt at tow gaskets and the are the same.

Those holes will be covered by the gasket, don't worry about it. Make sure you install your 350 head gaskets correctly, if you put them on upside down, you will have a water leak at the outer edge of the head and block. Jim Burek

The extra holes in the head are not needed for cooling. They are core clean out holes for the manufacturing process of the head. When the heads are originally made, all the openings for the water passages inside the head are made by using what called a sand mold, once the cast iron , or aluminum cools, those sand cores break up and have to be flushed out of the head, the extra holes are there to help get all the core sand out.
