Any difference in water pumps? Is there any difference in a NOS water pump and some of the others? I have an Airtex replacement pump and a NOS water pump. In looking inside the NOS pump, it looks like some minor cracking in the casting. Are these just part of the casting process and not something to be concerned about. The pump on the car ( 350 ci) is starting to make some racket and the weep hole drips form time to time. Bearings must be getting bad. Which pump should I have installed and hope this is not a stupid question as I am not well versed in such matters?

what may appear to be cracks are actually casting marks/lines and may/may not be raised. if u have an nos unit, install it. by the way, your old pump is about to fail. once fluid leaks out the weep hole, it is only a matter of time.
