Have a flat/satin black painted hood stripe with a few wax spots & streaks that make it look a little shinier in those places vs the rest of the stripe. I've tried wax and tar remover with a little luck. Is there anything else I could try that would help besides a respray?

Dawn Dish soap and a clay bar will remove wax.

Look up the Adams Products demo tape regarding how to do this.

X2 for dish soap. Just be sure rinse well, and wax the paint around the stripes again, because there ain't any wax there now.
