Well I lost my bragging rights around work

Friday night I went to Scribner to defend my title at work with a couple of crotch rockets. I put the spank on a 01 Kawasaki ZX12 out at Kearney a couple weeks ago, well they showed up with the ZX12 and a 04 Suzuki Hyabusa. (Both in street trim no slick no bar) They had just resurfaced the track and there was absolutely no rubber down yet, I have never raced on a worse track. Well I was relying on getting the jump out of the hole and the traction was not there, I even broke the tires loose about 3/4 track very scary ride. I pulled some timing out to try to reduce the hit on the tires but no luck. So this is the score board I get to look at here at work.

    Hyabusa 10.37
    ZX12 10.73
    69 GS 10.74

Oh well ! at least it's not a Camaro and a Mustang

Well Todd...what does a bike weigh?? maybe 7-800 lbs,GS.3500-4000 lbs. I wouldnt feel bad about it. Plus they just went out and bought it,not built it from hard work

You lost to some very fast motorcycles on a track with crappy traction, it's not a whooping at least.

Actually, both of those bikes are pretty close to 400lbs. Just one of the reasons they're so quick.

Wow. I know I wouldn't go up against one.

    1300cc DOHC EFI I-4, 6 speed constant mesh tranny. 217kg (478 lbs.)

And the ever popular grudge match.

You did great. Ever seen the Hybusa online that cruises about a 1/4 mile on one wheel, then as soon as the front tire touches the payvment, he really turns up the throttle!! The speed is counting so fast, I couldnt even believe it! Tops out well over 200 before he has to back out of it. Heck, it would run 1/2 mile faster than my car would do a 1/4 in. Don't know what add-ons they have for bikes these days, but they sure work. Car versus bike, though, not fair.

Hey, you've still got the fastest car.
It's nothing a 100 hp shot of juice wouldn't fix.

    That works both ways...

Around here NOS is normal and customary with the bike crowd, and they are crazy fast. We don't have a local 1/4 mi, but some are going better than 125 mph in the 1/8.
    Were talking "real" street bikes.

Loosing to a Hyabusa is nothing to hang your head over.

BTW many of these rockets are shoed by little teenage girls...
    Talk about a deflated ego?

    Cars vs Motorcycles

    Cars vs Cars= yes
    Cars vs Motorcycles=no
    Cars vs F-15's=no
I would say you won in my book if you could do that
well against an engine with nothing other than two
    wheels and a gas tank!

The part that bumbs me out is if the track would have hooked that night I don't think the ZX12 would have got past me.

It's all in fun, I'm just happy to be somewhere in the same ballpark with a heavy old Buick.

No traction. Yuck. Getting a Hyabusa though, that'd make a great kill...
