What I have is the wrong combination-a 77 350 with 9K miles since a total rebuild. The builder slid in some 7.5:1 pistons with a good cam and it's not what I want. Not at all. I'm looking for someone out West who can take this and make it right-probably just a piston change (to at least 9:1). Anybody in Northern CA or thereabouts who can put this engine into the 300+ H.P. range?o No:
not that I ever found... Let me know if you come up with anything. Had a machinist tell me the other day (as I was walking thru the complex where the shop was located and popped my head in and asked if they were experienced in rebuilding the smallblock Buick 350) Him: "You mean Chevy 350 right?" me: "no, Buick smallblock" Him: "hmmm, only the chevy 350 is referred to as a 'smallblock', you sure its not an Olds?" me: "its Buick, I'm positive" <walked away quickly>
Some people just don't know their V8s. My neighbor keeps insisting I should build a 383 stroker... right, I tried explaining it to him, but it just didn't work.
