Whole front clip is ‘69 GS and the upholstery looks like a guess at what would be corect. VIN is a GS400 convertible. Looks like a wrecked, engineless ‘68 GS was put together using a ‘69 GS350 and then painted resale red over lotsa black. Did the rear quarter marker lights fall off?

Definitely a real '68 GS400 convertible (44667) and also originally red with a black top. It's just had some things changed in the last 55 years.

I wonder if 1/4 panel skins were installed and they didn't cut holes for the side marker lights?

The skins available today, and in the past, have the pressed 69 rectangular marker light, but it isn’t cut out. It is possible they just foosified it by deleting those lights.

HA! I had a reply all typed out... However, I felt some people on here would take offense and say "who are you to judge" and "god forbid someone posts a car and all of you purist a**holes rip it apart"... So I deleted it... I will tone it down and type:

"Patrick, I agree... It appears that Streetside may have bought a wrecked 68, had a 69 GS parts car, put the nose from the GS on, replaced the quarters and deleted the rear quarter lights, did a VERY QUICK interior job, threw some paint on it, and posted it up for sale". Or... Maybe the previous owner felt this is what a 68 GS SHOULD look like, "in my eye".... and this is the result..

You think Streetside built the car? I thought they only consigned cars for sale?

Reality is if its not a rot bucket under all them mismatched parts. You get it at a good price. Who really cares... To the average Joe its a nice looking car with the pics provided....

I'm not sure about all Streetside locations, but the one located near Nashville just sells cars for people on consignment. They don't build 'em or know much about the cars beyond what the owner supplies to them.

That makes sense, considering the varying quality of cars they list (and the pricing!) I think a few people use them for storage-cheaper than renting a place, just price it to keep and it’s safe.
