What brand of tire do you run on your boat?

We're going to ressurect a '73 LeSabre, and the tires are very old / dry rotted.

It looks like there are very few brands of a passenger tire 235/75/15 any more, even though they used to be a dime/dozen.

Is there a popular brand of tire used for the big cars? Are people going to another size tire like a 255/70/15 or something?

(Strictly talking for the street here, if we go to a slick/drag radial that will be a different discussion...)

I picked a set of like new Bridgestone 235/75/15 with 1" white walls off craigs list that were on a 79 electra wagon.
They are sweet and I paid $200.00 rallye wheels and caps all in!

I have 3 sets of Goodyear Regatta II tires-not sure if they're still made, but they look great!

Firestone still makes the FR480 in a 225/75-15

Tire works here in Las Vegas sells a tire called "Mile-star."
They are readily & plentifully stocked in 235/74r15 size.
I have these on my 64 because 1 it has a white wall, and 2 it was very affordable.
I got the lot for 290's out the door!:beers2:

I have the Indy 500's on my '79,(235-70-16)the one in my avatar. For my '69 I went with BFG's TA's(235-70-15).I don't care for the white walls or white raised letters on my vehicles so the choices are more plentyfull for me.

I use Good Year Tires. Not sure if they still make them.
There is only one thing I can tell you for sure:
    Don´t buy Cooper Tires.
Cooper Weathermaster white lines are the biggest junk I ever had.
I had them on my 64 T-Bird. The side wall of the tire was getting "dents" after 2 months. And the car handled very soft and felt like the steering was woren out compared to the BF Goodrich I had on before.
And my dad had them on his 75 Cadillac Eldorado which uses the same size as the Centurion. He brought them back to the dealer after 2 weeks because they also started to get dents in the side walls.
And you can only drive with low inflation pressure. I think they accept max. 35 psi
A bit low for heavy car.
The Eldorado sounded like it runs on snow tires. Also it rolled very bad.
