Looks like someone made a 57 Super 4 door hardtop into a station wagon, to imitate the factory version called the Caballero. Buick didn't have a station wagon in the Super series that year. John
I've never seen one like that. I'd get a vin# and check the car's origin. Factory proto? Custom? Would be cool to find out. Are you buying the car? It should be restored and not left there to rot.
yes. i'm in contact with the seller and would like to buy and to restore it. waiting for the #vin and more information. greetings from germany gustavo
This is Interesting!! The car appears to be a Stick with a Floor Shift, & is using Chrysler style Lenses in the Buick Tail lamp Housing. Looking at the tail gate, it also appears to have a finger latch @ the Lock area (unless those are Keys) and the 2 Lift assists from the rear Trunk of a 57, turned upside down to lift the tailgate. I am still trying to figure what the tailgate is from. To big for Hillman, or Opel of that Vintage, but it appears to be a 1 piece unit.
this is definitely a very interesting car and i'm trying to find out all about it, but seller is a strange guy and not so communicative
/\/\/\/\ I understand that. /\/\/\ I have dealt with folks like him. Very frustrating. Everything has to go at their pace. You try to hurry things along and they back away. Good luck with the purchase. Hope you find the history and become the new owner.
Yeah! Got finally more information from the seller. Car is an european custom wagon, done in the 60ies! #Vin he gave me: CASD572638 Must be something wrong with the #vin, couldn't check it on vinwiz.com Buick Super 4 Door Riviera Model 53 He will send me more pictures and i will post it here.
It will be a lot of work to restore, but the end result will be sweet. Hope he is reasonable price-wise.
