I have a 1981 Century with a 267 V8 and also a 1982 Olds Cutlass with a mild built 455 Buick / 350 turbo tranny. I plan on swapping the 455 into the Century. I am not sure what to use for a rear diff. I have a posi unit from a 1987 Cutlass. is the diff. from the Century the same as the 2 Olds 7.5 or what are my options for the Century:confused: the 455 bored 40 over 11.5 compression stage 2 heads was built for boat racing, works well

You'll have 26 spline 7.5 A-G body rears in both. One can install posi & lower gears, but how long one will hold up behind the 455's torque, will depend if rear suspension hooks up or not

Have modded a few dozen '71-72 8.5 A-body housings for '78+ A-G body builds in the past. Also a few '65 & '67 12 bolt Chevelle hsgs. Ck my posts in the following earlier link.

Either a modded bolt-in axle 8.5 r/e or built-up 8.5 G-body rear would be easiast route if you're looking to upgrade. Built up 9" is another route.
