I have just put my motor back together.

TA Flat top .038 pistons .010 in the hole
    TA 294-04F Camshaft and lifters
Ported and polished Big Port 430 heads
    Double Roller Timing chain
    Stef's oil pan
    SP-1 Intake
    2" Headers
    3400-4400 stahl convertor
    TH400
Full body regal with 4.56 gears w/29.5 inch tire
I have nitrous to go on the car but I am trying to get it to run some 6.70's on its own then spray it.

About 7.00 on the motor...assuming all kinds of stuff. like (hp, weight, chassis set up), But I figure 530-560hp and around 3500-3700 with the driver. You certainly have it geared for the 1/8 mi. :TU:

    Sounds like fun.

What carb and fuel system and open headers 4 the track?

We have a similar combo in the '70 with 4.10 gears.
Best so far is a 6.80 @101. It should run 6.7's.
    What is your compression ratio?
You might find is likes a higher gear (lower number).
    Have fun!

I have a 1050 dominator on this motor with open exhaust. I run two holley blue fuel pumps one for the nitrous and one for the fuel. I would like to get the moroso 19 pound spring to go into the holley blue. The compression ratio should be a true 13.1. I am thinking about changing to a 3.90 rear gear.

If you get the chassis right you sholld be able to do it. We have a 70 camaro street car, with a 500 Hp 406 SBC. 12:1, 270CFM, 244@.050 sld FT.560". At 3300LBS it runs 10.60's @ 123MPH. High 6.70's to low 6.80's in the 1/8th, 1.42 60'. The chassis works good, but still needs some minor tuning. I think the converter is also a little too loose. Should go 10.50's if we can get the 60' into the high 1.3's. Your 13:1 455 should go an honest 530-560. At 35-3600LBS that should be enough to get you there.

I went to the track and played a little bit with this motor and it started to slow down then the oil pressure left it we tore it down and it was the oil filter colapsed on the motor. We were using a Fram oil filter. It wiped out a main and possibly bent a rod. I was wondering what i would have to do to get fram to replace my engine due to oil filter failure.

Sounds to me like you ate a bearing and the pieces plugged up the oil pump relief, I guess that would collapse the filter, the lack of oil would cause all the other problems. What bearings were shot, #3 or 7 rod? Rear main bearing??
    Fram won't pay a dime........

Agreed theres no way fram will pay anything regarding a race motor because how can there be proof that the filter was the one single item that caused the motor to clank. You can try but if I was Fram id probably tell you to go pound sand...
