I'm looking for a quality tire shine that won't break the bank. I've been using the Black Magic shine and it's pretty decent. But is there anything better in your opinions?
i sell tire shine through rivstar(doesnt rub/washoff)...but off the shelf probably mothers? mcquire is also good..also dont think this one rubs off either was it has silicone in it armoral is ok..but theirs rub off and you get black **** all ovber ya
Hit your local dollar store. Mine has Tire-Foam for 2.50 for a big can. And they also sell another brand. Can't remember.
I like armorall's new spray on stuff. Theres knockoff brands that work just as well. Tire Foam or something of the like. The regular armorall spray and wipe stuff stayed good for maybe a day or two, but the aerosol foam seems to last about 1.5 to 2 weeks depending on how much mud and gravel/dust you drive through. I go through 2 large aerosol cans over a summer for 2-3 cars. Thats like $20 of tire shine for a summer. not bad if you ask me. http://tryample.ca/images/Armor_All_tire_Foam.JPG There was another brand that i think stopped selling, i think it was called TireShine GEL. It was a heavier clear liquid that was absolutely relentless against dulling. The only down side was it was incredibly slippery if you got it somewhere you didnt want, and i caught myself slipping on it in the garage several times.
I own a auto detailing company here in sacramento,ca and i constantly try every product outhere, i use a chemical thats sold here locally, its super super good, and its not just for the tires, anything ruber plastic, and even weatherstriping. its an oil based shine chemical that i love to use, does not leave the brown look on the tire, i put it on my car 3 or 4 months ago and tire is still very very shiny..as if i put it yesterday. point being i dont like to use water based on tires, i use oil based. if its a daily driver id think about using it. unless you dont mind cleaning the tire about every week. also oil based dressing protect your tires from cracking or fading. if im not mistaken i pay 20 bucks per gallon for this oil based dressing, serves lots of purposes like i said. if its off the shelf product i like the silver eagle not sure if you know about it, or a maguires dressing, gel based or oil based dressing are always good in my opinion. The one i use after 5 minutes is no longer sticky, still shiny or oily.
as far as the gallons lasting. i go through 1 gallon in about 3-4 months, depending on business. well worth the money, try shopping around detail supply wholesalers. if you cant find anything ill ask the owner of tri star here and see if they have another warehouse near you..
