Was the starter heat shield and passenger motor mount heat shield on a 1970 Skylark GS galvanized or natural metal? There has been some debate on the forum as to the right way to restore the parts--any feedback would be helpful?

    Thanks,

I believe the passenger side motor mount shield and the starter shield were galvanized, and the driver's side manifold shield and heat stove were gray phosphate.
    I don't think anybody re-galvanizes parts though.
