I have seen pics of 64 Buick Skylarks with only the 3 bullets in the fron fender above the belt line, Then Iv seen pics of them with trim below the belt line all the down the side, Can anyone tell me what the difference is?
Any information you can give will be greatly appreciated

The difference is whether or not the car is a Special, Special Deluxe, or a Skylark. The Skylark in '64 only came with the wide (about 2") stainless trim (plated diecast on the front fenders) running down the side of the car. The portholes for the Skylark were incorporated in the plated diecast trim for the front fenders. The Specials had a couple of different options depending upon which trim package was ordered. The base model came with just the 3 portholes. If side trim was ordered it ran below the the portholes the entire length of the car it was thinner (around 1" wide) and was very similar to the side trim on the '65 skylarks (excepting the front fenders). There was also a couple of stainless trim packages that had different types of trim around the side windows and between the taillights. Special versus Special Deluxe.

I am not knowledgable about the script but I think the '64 Special had that script on the front of the fenders while the Skylark had the Skylark bird (I may be confusing '64's with '65's on this point). Hope this helps.

It does Help alot. What I have is a 64 Buick Special Convertible, and Id like to convert it all over to a 64 Skylark, Id just like to make sure I get the right trim to do the job, just not having much luck though.

Shawn the skylark in 64 had the wider trim the whole lenght. No port holes cause they're incorporated in the trim. The 64 Special like mine in the link, has the deluxe with the side trim as well as the port holes. Check it out.

    Shawn,

I have a Buick buddy who may be able to help you with the trim. Unfortunately he is on vacation for the next few days. I'll check with him when he gets back. He is very knowledgeable about Skylarks so if he has it, he knows what they are worth.
