I have a '70 Buick LeSabre 455 Coupe. I was wondering how much backspace I can have on my rear wheels. I'd like to put 15 x 10 on but I'm concerned with wheel rub on the frame and what-not when i hit bumps. But at the same time, I don't want the wheels sticking out too far past the fenderwell.

Charles unless someone has experience with what you're asking, you may not get an answer. That doesn't mean you can't measure yourself. Measure from the mounting surface of the drum back towards the frame, and forward to the fender lip. Also measure the backspacing of the wheels on the car, and measure between the mounted tire and frame/fender well. It will give you some idea of how much you can increase wheel width and backspacing.

    On the 70-72 GS, a 15 X 10 wheel can take a 5 5/8" backspace. I'm sure it is different on a 70 LeSabre.
