What is this clip for?

Is this for automatic trans lines? 70 GS 350 had automatic in it. Thanks

Great, thanks! One less part to order since it won't have an automatic again.

 

A little bit of trivia, the clip was actually installed on all '70 models, even 4-speed cars that didn't need it. So if you are doing a car that will be concours judged, you will need it. If not then you can skip it entirely.
