I have the stock 350 2bbl in my Skylark, and have replaced the front suspension with all Global West parts, including the springs, which are correct for a 350.

I would like to put my 455 in it, with the TA Aluminum heads.

I was wondering if anyone knows the difference in weight between the stock 350, and a 455 with Aluminum heads. Would I still need to get big block springs?

    Simple homemade test:

Engine weight wlil probably be 100 pounds more.

Have a friend apply weight to the front bumper, then watch how far the springs compress. That will be your new position.

If your old springs are worn out anyway, might be a good time to replace them. If they are in pretty good condition, I wouldn't bother.

    weight transfer=weight x cg height / wheelbase x g
    lateral weight transfer= weight x cg height / wheel track x g
If you want to get high tech bout it.
