What models did this steering wheel come on?

Was this wheel a base wheel on Specials and Skylarks (late 60's, early 70's I'm thinking), or was it an optional wheel?

Also, what are the differences in the hubs again between the late 60's and early 70's? I've got a 72 and a couple of different steering wheel choices. I really like the base style wheels without the padding, etc...

All I can tell you for sure is that it was never used on a 70-72 A body.

BigBlock68 Love that old car smell.

It's not off a '68 or '69. None of their wheels look like that. Looks more like something from the late 70's or 80's.

    Jim,
What years will this bolt right on to? I remember reading that there was a change some time in the late 60's or early 70's where the hub is different.

I do not know. But if you can find any numbers on any of the pieces I can verify this information through the parts books. If I had to guess I would say that it is a 68. A lot of 68-70 parts interchange as they share the same chassis. During those years every different colored wheel had a different number assigned.

Here are a couple of photos of numbers that I could find. One is inside the metal horn button. The other is on the underside rim of the wheel. It's a little more difficult to read. It looks like a Z on the end, but it could be a 2. I could also be wrong with the other numbers. Sanding it down could possibly make them more readable. There's also the number 2 on the wheel a little ways away from this group of numbers and a big 0 on the underside of the central hub.

While watching Barrett-Jackson, I have noticed that it looks like the 68-69 Corvettes have the same sport steering wheel as found on the 70-72 GS. Is this true?
