What kind of plugs and what heat range do you run..???? I run autolite's, #25 gaped at .035...........
Tim, I run the Champion RV17YC plugs gapped at .050. The MSD Digital 6+ fires them easily. I have tried alot of different plug heat ranges and manufacturers. I keep coming back to these plugs. My engine just likes them. Alot of guys tell me that the heat range is too high. I don't have any bad effects from them in my combination. They are a projected nose design, and position the spark .060 deeper into the chamber. This gives the plug a wider heat range, hotter at low speed, and cooler at high speed. It also has the same effect as advancing the timing, so your total timing can be reduced somewhat. I notice crisper throttle response and better low end pull with these plugs. I used to run them with my Stinger and jetted carb, because they resisted fouling better. With the MSD, plug fouling is no longer an issue, I can run just about any plug heat range wise. These plugs just make the engine run better. Here's a picture of a R45TS and RV17YC. They cross over to the same heat range, but look totally different.
